Safety Concerns Begin Revel Mopeds’ Exit from NYC

In New York City, Brooklyn-based Revel mopeds will be saying goodbye, signifying the conclusion of a remarkable era. The company has announced they severing ties with the city and ending their shared electric two-wheelers, on November 18.

This decision comes from a series of events, notably, a duo of fatal mishaps involving Revel mopeds. Also, the 2020 Revel crash claimed the life of CBS New York correspondent, Nina Kapur. In the aftermath of these tragedies, Revel took assertive action, pausing its services to address safety concerns.

The CEO of Revel has announced the company is steering away from the electric mopeds. Instead, the focus now is on ride-hailing services. Concurrently, Revel is charting a course towards establishing a public rapid-charging infrastructure custom-tailored for electric vehicles, underscoring their dedication to transportation alternatives. We have seen an influx of Revel Tesla’s in New York, soon we will see more.
