Camara Porter

A Manhattan native, who’s also spent time abroad in Germany where he gained a lifelong appreciation for transparency, clarity, and availability as exemplified in the post-WWII reconstruction of infrastructure and communication. The simple but purposeful use of glass in architecture embodied these values and caught his attention.

Upon return to the city, he found employment to satiate his creative leanings, working as an artist assistant ;and an educator at The Museum of the City of New York. As a Collector, Camara started with comics, magazines, and other novelty items during his youth. Better understanding the potential for value appreciation, he moved into the world of limited edition art prints  and collectibles. As his palette matured, he graduated to collecting original pieces, and, with a little push from the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, seriously selling art editions full time through third party platforms.

At this stage, Camara has evolved into a veritable critic and Art World Insider, speaking at public panels and curating his own collection while creating Gotham Art News.
