ATM Gallery Co-Founded by Bill Brady & William Leung Has Closed Their Doors

ATM Gallery & William Leung have officially announced on Instagram the closing of its gallery on Henry Street in Chinatown, Manhattan. 

An unexpected closing as many art enthusiast remember the power duo, Bill Brady and William Leung. Bill Brady founder of Bill Brady gallery and co-founder of ATM passed away early 2023 from cardiac arrest following an asthma attack. 

Bill Brady initially opened ATM Gallery in 2001 with the first location on Ave B in the East Village later sharing an exhibition space with Freight + Volume in Chelsea.  Prior to becoming the renowned ATM gallery.

Co-founder William Leung in his interview with CULTURED explained in 2020 “We decided to bring it back,” “Hey, we’re in a pandemic, let’s do it.” this drastic decision put ATM on the radar with art enthusiasts establishing a cult following around their contemporary emerging artist. 

ATM became a statement for collectors acknowledging that the gallery’s structure and revamped aesthetic and garnered attention, guaranteed the success of artists who were allowed to display their works within the gallery’s space.

In early 2022 before the passing of co-founder Bill Brady, William Leung opened his solo project Another Gallery renamed Long Story Short. Located at 52 & 54 Henry Street in New York a clear tell of solidifying his dominance of Chinatown’s Henry Street. Along with opening a Los Angeles location and Paris Location. 

As ATM bids it’s farewell and thanks it’s supporters. The work of William Leung & Bill Brady goes far from unnoticed.
