JFK Airport’s Terminal 6 is the Home for 18 New Contemporary Artworks

JFK Airport has announced plans for the new Terminal 6, set to open in phases. The first five gates are scheduled to welcome passengers in early 2026, with full completion of the terminal anticipated by 2028. Highlighting its commitment to public art, The Public Art Fund will lead the art program, featuring installations by 18 contemporary artists. Each artwork will be displayed as a large scale estimated to cost $4.2 billion. There will be various methods used to display the 18 artist works, including glass floor mosaics, hanging sculptures, and works suspended from the airports ceilings.
