The Climate Clock in New York has Ticked Down Below Five Years

The Climate Clock has ticked down below five years for the first time as of July 22, 2024. Marking a critical time window for humanity to reach zero emissions and avoid surpassing the global warming threshold. The countdown is in correlation with data from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) prompting global synchronized actions calling for an end to fossil fuels and accelerating climate solutions for a better future.

New York City’s Union Square served as the center of a moving climate protest, as determined activists took to the streets with a simple mission: save the planet. This demonstration was ignited by the stark reality that the Climate Clock, a global symbol of climate urgency, had ticked below five years, highlighting the time we have to prevent irreversible environmental damage.
