Eligibility and Application Details for the $20,000 DAG Prize for Visual Art

The DAG Foundation annually awards the $20,000 DAG Prize for Visual Art to an emerging artist whose work advances the evolution of visual art in the United States. The prize supports innovative projects that break traditional boundaries in medium, technique, or style.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify, applicants must meet two or more of the following:

• Received a small art grant or prize.

• Completed a residency at a reputable arts colony.

• Earned an MFA from an accredited studio arts program.

• Hosted a solo show at a curated gallery or artist-run space.

• Participated in a group show at a curated gallery or artist-run space.

• Had reviews or interviews in respected arts publications.

• Exhibited work in a prestigious gallery or museum.

Additional requirements:

• Must reside in the U.S. by the application deadline.

• Cannot have won or been a finalist for a major art prize.

Prize and Use of Funds

The $20,000 prize is intended to support:

• Materials and studio space.

• Exhibition costs.

• Research travel.

• Other resources essential for creating and presenting a new project.
