The Queens Museum presents Umber Majeed: J😊Y TECH, a solo exhibition running from March 16 to October 5, 2025. The show reimagines the history of the Pakistan Pavilion at the 1964–65 New York World’s Fair through the lens of speculative fiction, exploring the South Asian diaspora and personal familial narratives.
Born in 1989 in New York, Umber Majeed works across mediums, integrating archives, digital culture, and feminist perspectives. Majeed has previously displayed exhibitions at Pioneer Works (Brooklyn), Hayy Jameel (Jeddah), and the Asian Art Biennial (Taiwan).
Umber Majeed’s multimedia works critique archives, propaganda, and cultural memory using augmented reality, video, and drawings.
