In the heart of Paris, Grammy award-winning musician and art enthusiast Pharrell Williams has curated a groundbreaking exhibition titled “FEMMES” at Perrotin. This spectacular showcase features nearly 40 artists, including Carrie Mae Weems, Nina Chanel Abney, and Todd Gray, in a celebration of the influence and narrative of black women. The exhibition pays tribute to femininity, representation, and identity.

Pharrell’s passion for celebrating Black womanhood stems from his personal experience with strong female figures. This sentiment is reflected throughout the exhibition, which features works that confront and redefine Black identity.
The exhibition includes textile art by Kathia St. Hilaire and Georgina Maxim, dynamic portraiture by Zanele Muholi and Kenturah Davis, and collage emphasizing the visual language of pop culture by Mickalene Thomas and Tschabalala Self.
