Today Nino Mier Gallery officially announced closure of their two Los Angeles gallery locations by the end of the summer. On April 30th The Art Newspaper posted allegations by previous staff claiming Nino Mier Gallery underpaid artist while keeping the rest of the earning for themselves –– artist Kyle Staver quickly defended the company saying
“I’ve worked with Nino Mier for going on 3 years. In that time he has Never Ever underpaid me and has always worked hard to get my work up and in great collections. I trust him and look forward to our show in LA that opens May 18.”
Kyle Staver’s exhibition Erzahlerin opened six days ago as promised, and the show will be on display until June 29.
June 29th marks the last day for both Kyle Straver’s exhibition and the two Los Angeles gallery locations. Within the detailed press release Nino Mier mentions continuing with sole focus on their New York and Brussels locations and also this closure ” has nothing to do with recent media reports.”
