Judy Garland Museum Aims To Obtain Wizard of Oz Ruby Sippers on Auction

The Judy Garland Museum is launching a fundraising campaign to buy back the iconic Ruby Slippers worn by Judy Garland in ‘The Wizard of Oz.’ These legendary shoes, stolen from the museum in August 2005, recovered by the FBI in 2018 then returned to the original owner Micheal Shaw in February 2024, are set to be auctioned.

The museum aims to gather funds through public donations, special events, and partnerships to bid on the slippers. Reclaiming them would offer fans a tangible connection to the magic of ‘The Wizard of Oz.’

The Judy Garland Museum is located in Grand Rapids, Minnesota. It features a collection of Judy Garland and Wizard of Oz artifacts, an interactive kids’ museum, and gardens. The museum also includes Judy Garland’s restored 1922 birthplace.

It is open daily from 9 AM to 5 PM with a general admission fee of $12 for adults and $10 for children under 12 years old.
