The DAG Prize for Music is a $20,000 annual award supporting mid-career musicians, songwriters, and producers whose work enriches the U.S. musical landscape. The prize funds significant new projects, including composing, recording, producing, and performing music.
• Eligibility:
• Must be a working musician, songwriter, or producer/engineer.
• Demonstrates at least one of the following:
• National and/or international touring history.
• Releases with an established label or recognized distributor.
• Songwriting or production credits on significant albums, films, or TV projects.
• A publishing deal with an established company.
• Evidence of a dedicated following through ticket sales, tours, or social media.
• Significant collaborations with more established artists.
• Must reside in the U.S. by the application deadline.
• Ineligible if you have won major awards (e.g., Grammy) or have a major commercially successful release (e.g., gold/platinum record).
• Goal: To support new music projects by providing funds for studio time, hiring musicians, acquiring instruments, and more.
• Applications Open: February 1, 2025.
• Deadline: March 15, 2025, by 11:59 PM.
