Christophe Cherix Named New Director of MoMA

The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) has appointed Christophe Cherix as its new director, succeeding Glenn D. Lowry this September. As a renowned Swiss curator, Cherix brings his expertise in modern and contemporary art to the role.

Cherix’s appointment marks the end of an era for MoMA, as he takes over from Lowry, who has led the institution since 1995. With a legacy of curatorial excellence, Cherix is poised to bring fresh perspectives and innovative exhibitions to the museum.

During his time at MoMA, Cherix has curated several landmark exhibitions, including “ED RUSCHA / NOW THEN” and “Adrian Piper: A Synthesis of Intuitions.”
